Recently I have been thinking a lot about progress. Not just any progress, but my own progress. I keep thinking that I am devolving.

I am becoming more of the person that I wanted to change, regressing back to my childhood self, in other words Benjamin buttoning….

Today I found out why I am feeling this way, and why I am actually sort of devolving. It’s because I am comfortable. I thought about it, and when people get comfortable they get lazy.

Humans have a natural instinct to survive, but past that it’s different for everyone. What I mean is that there is a survival threshold. Some may be lower, and some higher. Surviving to some may mean just being able to eat enough. For others surviving could mean owning a home, business, or raising a family. Right now, I am comfortable just surviving. I need to get out of a survival mindset, and get into a “living” one. That’s one of my goals for now. I hope it will come to fruition.

I find myself in a slump. I used to feel that opportunities and possibilities were endless. Now I feel cramped up and in a glass elevator. I can see everything that is goon on around me. Some people are moving up in their elevators, and others are staying on the same floor. On the other hand, there are a few whose elevators are going down. They are devolving into their former selves. Taking two steps back and one step forward. I feel like those few. How do I get out?
